Generator Fisher Panda

Generator from Fischer Panda 10000i PM S 230 V – 50 Hz – 10 kVA

We have long wondered how we will be able to build up prosthetics on board in all the different corners of our world. While thinking if to install a windgenerator or a photovoltaic system, we found out a crucial problem:  we have to ensure that we will be able to produce enough electricity required to power the equipment. There are several ways to generate elettricity and one of the most reliable sources is a generator. Since Fischer Panda is one of the world leader in the generators maritime sector, we, as a foundation, have contacted and presented them our project. Jens Langer, Director of Fischer Panda GmbH Sales/Projects and Marketing, was enthusiastic about our plan and promised us his support.

The result of this is now in the Yachtwerft of Heiligenhafen.

A Fischer Panda 10000i PMS!

We want to thank Fischer Panda for their support!

The only thing is that the generator is not so light. With all the trimmings , it gets over 200 Kg.

Since a catamaran can be sensitive to such a change in weight, a suitable location must have been found on board.

Die Lagoon 410 S2 has two big lockers in front of the trampolin, which are usually designed for two water tanks with 350L volume each.

However, the “Imagine” has only one tank, so we have enough space for our generator.

By the way, four screws are not enough to put the generator into the locker. Try to imagine if in heavy weather the generator would  move and start to developed an own life in the locker… That would be a huge risk!

Therefore, a mahogany frame has been built for our generator and then laminated.

But before this can be done, the locker must be diligent looped and treated.

Max, the trainee, was allowed to ran it and showed how good he is!

You can see the intermediate result!

Now the area is ready for the next step!

 The last steps are done.

Both the Mahagoni blocks fit like a glove!

Now Matthias, who with his 30 years experience in boat buliding knows what matters, can jump into the game.

After everything has been cured, the mahogany blocks can now be finally covered with GRP.

 Ready for the next step.

Now Steffi can start to work with Max. Layer by layer, mats and strips of GRP are alternately layed-up.

The mask is a must-have here!

Now grind a little, a little bit of paint on it,

and the result looks like this!

The conditions for the generator installation are set. Now the good piece can come in!

It is not so easy to get the “light weight” on board. But our crane masters have a solution for everything!

Dirk, the multitalent, is already waiting eagerly in the box of the generator, which he will connect soon!

Generator landed. Now the work really begins. Breakthroughs board, cabling and connection of the generator are waiting in the next days for the guys of the Yachtwerft Heiligenhafen.
